Pickleball Ambassador (Wilmington)

Position Title: Pickleball Ambassador

Location: Beau Rivage Golf & Resort

Employment Type: Part-Time/Seasonal


Overview:

Our Pickleball Ambassadors will serve as key representatives of Beau Rivage Golf & Resort, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all members and guests participating in pickleball activities.


This role involves managing member and league check-in, checking in public reservations and

processing payments, and addressing inquiries related to memberships, leagues, and programs. The ambassador will also assist with light court maintenance and vending refreshments. The position is part time at 12-20 hours per week, scheduled between 6:30am and 9pm.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Membership Validation:

  • Check in members upon arrival.
  • Verify membership status and reservation.
  • Maintain accurate records of memberships and reservations by promptly checking in member guests and collecting any guest fees.


2. Public Reservations:

  • Manage public court reservations efficiently.
  • Ensure that all bookings are confirmed and communicated clearly.
  • Address any scheduling conflicts or issues promptly.


3. Payment Processing:

  • Collect payments for member guests, court rentals, merchandise, and refreshments.
  • Provide receipts and maintain financial records accurately.


4. Customer Service:

  • Answer questions regarding membership options, league play, and program details.
  • Provide information about upcoming events or tournaments.
  • Foster a friendly atmosphere by greeting members and guests warmly.
  • Assist with occasional event set-up (e.g. tent and table set-up)


5. Court Maintenance:

  • Perform light maintenance tasks on the courts to ensure they are in good playing condition (e.g., rolling courts if wet).
  • Report any significant maintenance issues to management for further action.
  • Periodically Monitor Bathrooms for Cleanliness and Lost Items


6. Vending Operations:

  • Manage the refreshment vending area by stocking items as needed.
  • Ensure ongoing cleanliness and organization of the Shack.


7. Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs for tasks such as moving equipment or restocking supplies.


Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Basic knowledge of pickleball rules and regulations is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Previous experience in a recreational or hospitality setting is advantageous.

Seasonal Camp Counselors (Wilmington)

Position Overview

Camp Swickleputt is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Seasonal Camp Counselors to supervise and engage children aged 5-12 in a variety of activities, including sports, crafts, and meals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create a fun and safe environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Oversee groups of children (up to 10 per counselor) during all camp activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Activity Leadership: Lead daily scheduled activities including:
  • Sports: Organize and facilitate games of golf, pickleball, and swimming lessons.
  • Crafts: Guide children in various arts and crafts projects that encourage creativity.
  • Lunch: Assist with lunch setup, supervise meal times, and promote healthy eating habits.
  • Engagement: Foster a positive camp atmosphere by encouraging participation, teamwork, and respect among campers.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with campers regarding schedules and expectations; provide feedback to Director as needed.
  • Behavior Management: Implement appropriate behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful environment.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Be aware of emergency procedures and first aid protocols; respond effectively in case of emergencies.


Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old or have completed high school.
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children and parents alike.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid is highly desirable but training can be provided.


Schedule

This position requires availability for the duration of the camp season (Some evening/weekend training in May, plus open availability June 9 through August 23). Hours may be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM to 4:30PM.

Summer Camp Director (Wilmington)

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Camp Director to lead our weekly summer camp program, Camp Swickleputt, for children aged 5 to 12. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, engagement, and the overall well-being of campers while creating a fun and enriching environment. This role involves overseeing all aspects of camp operations, including staff management, activity planning, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role will require flexible planning sessions plus continuous availability between 6/9/2025– 8/22/2025.


Key Responsibilities:


Safety Management:

  • Implement and Monitor existing safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all
  • campers, including the accommodation of food allergies.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for staff.
  • Monitor camper activities closely to prevent accidents and address any potential hazards immediately.


Program Development:

  • Oversee an engaging curriculum that includes various recreational activities tailored to
  • different age groups, including swimming, pickleball, putting, and crafting.
  • Plan and follow daily schedules that balance structured activities with free play, ensuring all campers are actively engaged.
  • Modify activities as necessary to accommodate the diverse needs of campers, including those with special requirements.


Staff Oversight:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise camp staff, including counselors and activity facilitators.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and effective communication among staff members.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff in managing camper behavior and facilitating activities.


Camper Engagement:

  • Create an inclusive atmosphere where every camper feels valued and included.
  • Organize team-building exercises and group games that promote friendship and cooperation among campers.
  • Solicit feedback from campers about their experiences to continuously improve the program.


Administrative Duties:

  • Manage the camp budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately for supplies, equipment, and staffing needs.
  • Maintain accurate records related to camper attendance, incidents, and program evaluations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding camp policies, schedules, and any concerns that may arise.
  • Position reports to Program Director.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in camp management or working with children in recreational settings.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and engage children effectively.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is required (can be provided); additional certifications in child safety or outdoor education are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in planning activities and managing budgets.

Job Title: Kitchen Cooks


Beau Rivage Golf Resort in South Wilmington is currently seeking experienced cooks to join our team in providing great food and service at our Signature 19th Hole, The Veranda Bar & Grill. We serve a wide variety of customers ranging from club and resort members and community residents to hotel/event guests and Wilmington locals. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we serve casual comfort food and traditional pub fare in a laid-back atmosphere.

Kitchen roles include maintaining high levels of quality, service, presentation and cleanliness when it comes to food-service. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about creating great food! Specific functions and duties include prep of menu items according to recipes, plating presentations and practicing sanitary and safe food handling at all times.

Starting pay ($14-16/hour) is dependent on kitchen experience. Resort and complimentary golf perks are also part of staff compensation. Health Insurance benefits available for Full Time employees.
